The Partnership
The Chipman team has collaborated with Senior Lifestyle Corporation for over six years on properties throughout the United States. Every property is unique and the design solutions are based on the location, residents and project scope. The collaboration between CDA and SLC, at Liberty Heights, started as a quick upgrade but the team realized the property needed a full Master Plan. A comprehensive planning exercise will make sure the residents have a great place to call home.
The Task
Kickoff the Master Plan with a breathtaking renovation to the formal Independent Living Dining Room known as the Columbine Room, named for the state flower.
The Solution
The CDA team quickly realized the dining room's focus should not be within the four walls of the space but incorporate the view of the Rocky Mountains and nod to the nearby Air Force Academy. Our team was able to produce a high-end design using a Colorado-inspired color palette, formality that would be appreciated by the many US Armed Forces that reside at Liberty Heights, and sophistication that would be found at five-star resort.
Our in-house architecture and interiors team worked together to remove faux columns, redesign guardrails to allow for better views, provide residents with an arrival sequence, and design a two-story feature light fixture for the existing atrium.
The Results
After not being renovated since its opening in 1990, diners were thrilled to have their first meal in the new and improved Columbine Room, while taking in the fresh views of the Rocky Mountains.
