The Ask

Banana Republic set out to elevate the BR Home experience by aligning it with their refreshed brand direction. The objective was to create a sophisticated, immersive environment that blends fashion, art, and global culture while offering a unique sensory experience for shoppers. In addition to showcasing their premium collections, the design had to seamlessly integrate the brand’s heritage with natural elements, contemporary art, and artisan craftsmanship to create a memorable and luxurious space.

 

The Task

Chipman Design Architecture collaborated with Banana Republic to bring the newest BR Home store at Westfield Century City in Los Angeles to life. Our team developed an immersive shopping experience that mirrors the brand’s elevated aesthetic, using Venetian plaster walls, brass accents, and white oak floors to blend timeless natural elements with Banana Republic’s heritage. The design encourages exploration, guiding shoppers through thoughtfully curated spaces that highlight premium products, contemporary art, and artisan craftsmanship—all while creating a luxurious, comfortable atmosphere that reflects the spirit of modern living.
