Alliant Credit Union’s workplace renovation involved reimagining a traditional office space that once housed cubicles and private offices into a more dynamic and functional environment suited for a post-pandemic hybrid work model. With a shift to hoteling desks and an increased demand for conference rooms, the client sought a design that balanced utility and comfort while embracing modern workplace trends.
This project presented unique challenges, as the building, located on O’Hare International Airport property and owned by United Airlines, required compliance with Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) guidelines. This required a thorough approval process, including extensive documentation on materials and their suitability. The resulting design transformed the space by blending warm wood tones with the existing cold stone and concrete, adding black metal accents, and incorporating pops of navy and green inspired by Alliant’s brand colors. Lush greenery and biophilic elements further enlivened the environment, creating a welcoming and visually engaging workspace.
